Sarah Knits Tits!!

Yes she does! I finally posted my newest creation, knitted titties! I started making these Knit Tits several years ago when my grandma got breast cancer and had a mastectomy. So many of the options out there are made of synthetic materials, cost lots of $$, are difficult to care for, require special bras, and just plain look bad. So, i decided to create this stylish, comfortable alternative.

It's knit with Debbie Bliss' Baby Cashmerino yarn (yes its a baby yarn, but the color is very mature, a beautiful dusty rose) which has, of course, cashmere, along with merino wool which makes it oh so soft!

Look at how lovely they are! I'm so excited to have finally finished them. You can visit my etsy store here if you'd like to purchase your own Knit Tit for yourself or a friend. They even have nipples knit from icord and then knotted, which makes them look very convincing under clothing. And you can wear almost any bra with them, say goodbye to those mastectomy bras! Well, it look like bettejo has tagged me. Seems I need to list 7 little known things about myself and then tag someone else. Hmm, this might be difficult. Here it goes:

1. I love to run on the beach when the rain pours down onto your face, and the wind blows so hard that it takes all the effort you've got to step forward.

2. I sometimes dance in the shower (if I sang, someone might hear)

3. I love being alone, and someday want to go off and live in a cabin in the woods completely isolated from society, just for a few months.

4. I love brussel sprouts!

5. I have a smiley face scar on my stomach from a swing set incident with my cousin when I was 6. Basically, he wanted me to get out of the way, I was stubborn, he ran into me, I got a sweet scar!

6. Probably the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten was when I had corn on the cob with mayonnaise and cheese (which tasted like dirty socks) in Mexico. I was on an exchange program, my second night with my host family. I managed to choke half of it down and just barely stopped myself from sending it back up. I think it must be an acquired taste or something.

7. Someday, I want to go skydiving, and para sailing, and bungee jumping, there's an adventurous side of me that wants to get out!

Dog Mountain

Last week on the way home from college, my dad and I hiked up Dog Mountain. My mom was there too, but she's been having some trouble with her achilles so she couldn't do the hike with us this time, maybe next year. I thought I was in decent shape, but boy was I wrong. The hike is 3.8 miles uphill, and when I say uphill, I mean steep uphill, like climbing stairs uphill. My dad however, zoomed up the hill and had to pause every few hundred yards for me to catch up.

It was definitely worth it though, we reached the top and the hillside was covered with thousands of beautiful wildflowers, mostly some yellow daisy-type ones. We took photos of all the different types of flowers we could find, I think there were over twenty in all. I got a northwest wildflower book last Christmas, so hopefully I can identify at least some of the flowers.

If any of you live in the northwest, now is the time to hike Dog Mountain. The wildflowers are just amazing, I've never seen anything like it. They stretched over the hillside like a yellow blanket, and then if you looked closer, you'd see little specks of all the colors of the rainbow. My dad said it looked like a boquet, all the flowers were arranged so beautifully. While this hike is definitely a challenge, it's well worth it. It's near the town of White Salmon in the Gorge off the Colombia River.

Thanks to everyone who has been so helpful! I think I'm beginning to get the hang of this blog thing, yay! Hopefully I'll post some of my current projects soon, as soon as I take a break from knitting them to snap some photos :)

So, besides finishing up finals, I have been working on setting up my own online store at Etsy.com. I've decided to call it Sarahknits since, well, my name is Sarah, and I'm selling my knitted items. Yeah, I know, so creative...
Anyways, you should all check it out. There isn't much up for sale quite yet, only a few items, mostly baby, but stay tuned for more soon.

Here are some of the things I've made for sale.

First, an adorable pair of baby booties that I knit from a deliciously soft cream colored yarn that is 50% angora! I love them! I also knit a matching hat, put them together for the perfect baby shower gift! Both the booties and hat should fit a baby from newborn to around 9 months.

I've been knitting for a few years now and thought it was about time to start a blog. Never mind the fact that I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, or that I already struggle to find enough free time to knit, let alone write about my knitting. So, we'll see how this goes. That's all for now, perhaps I'll post something of meaning a bit later.
